MDU uses the centralized Samarth Portal for its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). Here is how you can check your progress:

Go to the Source: Visit the official MDU Samarth Admission Portal.

Log In: Use the Email Address and Password you wrote down when you first signed up.

Find Your Dashboard: When on your student dashboard, click the tab “My Applications”.

View Status: Your application will show in this view with its status (Submitted/Provisionally Admitted/Confirmed).

Understanding the Status Labels

Not sure what the portal is saying? Here is a quick recap on the most common statuses:

Submitted: Your form has been received by our system (but not yet opened by the verification team).

Pending / Under Process: Your request is with an official who will be checking all of the documents and eligibility.

Discrepancy Raised: Official request! The university found issues with your documents. Go to the link provided to upload the correct documents.

Confirmed / Admitted: The best news of all! You are now officially an MDU student. You can now download your provisional admission slip.

What to Do if Your Status Isn't Updating?

If your status hasn’t changed for longer than 10 working days then don’t worry. The CDOE staff are manually dealing with thousands of applications. If you need to hurry and the deadline is far away, this is how you can contact:

Important Notes for MDU Applicants

  • Original Documents: Keep your original marksheets and certificates ready. Even after online confirmation, the university may call you for physical verification at a later stage.

  • ABC ID: Ensure you have created your Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID, as it is now mandatory for MDU admissions.

  • The Deadline: For the current session, make sure all discrepancies are resolved and fees are paid by March 31 2026.

Do not pay twice. It may take 48 to 72 hours for the bank server to update your Samarth portal. If it does not update even after 3 days, email your transaction receipt to MDU helpdesk.

Samarth Portal link to your ID card will appear only after your status is updated to “Confirmed”. It generally takes few days after the final document verification.

No. Once your admission is confirmed, any change is not possible. You will need to contact the Director of CDOE directly for any extraordinary request. A processing fee will be applicable.
